As a Frenchie, I love car rides. Sometimes I get so excited I pee a little. Unfortunately, car rides require gas and sometimes . . . people create gas panics. I like to herd things. I even heard Travis to the kitchen for breakfast when he isn’t moving fast enough, This article is about herding as well. I wasn’t born in 2008, but apparently, Hurricane Ike caused people to act like sheep (should’ve acted like Frenchies) and those sheeple panicked and bought gas they didn’t need. This is called a hoarding mentality. My brother Arnold likes to hoard his beds and not let me lick them. All of this boils to down to an economic term called supply and demand. For example, I demand treats and my humans supply them. Ok Ok . . . that’s not exactly how it works. In the case of gas supply and demand, the stores can create supply and the consumer create demand. If all else were equal, the gas stores would simply raise prices to curb demand. If the government keeps the price below a certain point, this pushes supply down and creates a shortage. The best thing to do is to sit back and let the market work.
While you are relaxing, feel free to rub my tummy or take me for a walk. Frenchies usually like to exercise for 30-60 minutes a day so we don’t create a surplus of Sally. If you need ideas for Frenchie exercise, try finding a toy and letting us chase you with it. We are the perfect size to run around a living room so we can listen to a podcast on economics while we play. If you need recommendations for podcasts or if you don’t know what a podcast is, stay tuned for a great article about Puppies and Podcasts tomorrow.

Did you know that having a gym or workout area within 4 miles of your home makes you FIVE TIMES more likely to work out on a daily basis? The Wall Street Journal published a study of nearly 7 million gym goers. If you need local gym recommendations, ask your neighbors. Make an effort to be friendly and courteous at the gym as well. Sometimes, having an accountability partner will make you even more likely to work out consistently. This is why I like to go on walks with my people and my brother, Arnold. He’s more of a sprinter than a distance runner.

Frenchies do best in temperatures under 80 degrees, so I’ve been enjoying the cooler weather. I also recommend getting a good tummy rub after any intense workout . . . trust me, you earned it
