A Rational Guide To An Irrational World

January 7, 2018February 10, 2018

Should You Walk Your Dog During the Bomb Cyclone?

NO. NO. NO. But seriously. Do not walk your dog during the bomb cyclone. If you need more guidance, Dr. Kim Smyth created an awesome chart about safe temperatures for walking dogs.

I guess this would also apply to cats. Basically from 45 to 60 degrees is ok for dog walking. If you have short nosed breeds, any temperature over 75 degrees is getting warm. Our vet gave us some sage advice. If you wouldn’t let your child out during the weather, don’t let your dog out.

Same goes for jackets and water. If you would wear a jacket during the weather, your dog needs one too. If you would drink water regularly, same for your dog. This isn’t rocket science, but I see far too many animals out and about in bad weather.

Stay rational.
